This page explains what data midad.blog collects, why, and how you can control it. We collect as little as we can and never sell it.
Who we are
midad.blog is a blog in Arabic and English, and the place where the Midad WordPress theme is sold. For privacy questions: hi@midad.blog.
Data we collect
- Email subscription: when you subscribe we store your email to send you new posts. You receive a confirmation email, and every message has a one-click unsubscribe link. The list is managed by the MailPoet plugin on our site.
- Comments: when you comment we store your name, email, IP address and comment, to fight spam. Your email is never published.
- Messages: if you write to us we keep your message and email to reply and provide support.
- Server logs: like any website, our host (Hostinger) records technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and performance.
Buying the theme
Purchases are handled by Freemius, Midad’s authorised reseller, and payments by payment providers such as Stripe and PayPal. Your card details never pass through our site and we never see them. Freemius shares your name, email and order details with us so we can provide your licence and support. See the Freemius privacy policy.
Licence activation inside the theme
When you activate your licence key, the theme sends Freemius the data needed to manage your licence and updates: your site address, the theme, WordPress and PHP versions, and the activating user’s name and email. The theme shows you this before activation.
Cookies and browser storage
- Language: a cookie remembers your chosen language (Polylang).
- Comments and log-in: the usual WordPress cookies if you comment or log in.
- Night mode: your choice is stored in your browser only and never sent to us.
We do not use advertising cookies. If we ever add analytics or ads, we will update this page.
How long we keep data
We keep a subscriber’s email until they unsubscribe, comments while they are published, and support messages for as long as needed to help you or as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion by writing to hi@midad.blog; we will reply within a reasonable time. You can unsubscribe from emails yourself with the link in any message.
Changes
We may update this policy when our services change, and will update the “Last updated” date above.
